Boris Bucan

was born in Zagreb (Croatia) in 1947. In 1972 he finished his studies in graphical arts at the academy of Zagreb. Ever since, he is widely successful in creating posters for theatre companies and performances.
His publicity is based especially upon his participance in a competition held at the 7th Biennale for theatre posters in Rzeszow (Poland, 1999), where he was awarded with the first prize. His layouts are sought-after by opera houses and theatre companies all over the world, for example the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and the Playbox Theatre Melbourne.
In numerous individual exhibitions and as a participant in many group exhibitions, Bucan is internationally success- ful with his art. He received international prizes and medals and participated in the Venice Biennale (1984) as well as the Biennale in São Paolo (1992) and the Mailand Triennale.
