The works of this exhibition shown in Art Center Berlin, are among the inventory of Caja de Ahorros de Extremadura. Over the last 25 years this collection of art was built with prize-winning paintings of Saloacute;n de Otoño de Pintura de Plasencia (autumnal salon of painting in Plasencia). It is an attempt to show this regenerative movement in contemporary Spanish painting of this period of time; a cultural obligation to open to the public the current reality of present Spanish painting. Possibly a cause for wider consideration and analysis. This exhibition gives an important insight in present painting's development of our country, beyond doubt of apparent interest not only for experts but for a wide audience.
With our efforts for the collection Caja de Extremadura already exhibited in Lisbon, Rome, Madrid and Seville- we want to emphasize the importance of the competition of art Salón de Otoño. Among other things it is standing out due to Spain's most diversified financial awards. By now Salón de Otoño has certainly secured itself a prestigious position in the cultural scene. Of particular importance is the award's range. First covering just Iberian Peninsula, that is Spain and Portugal, it will be open for all European artists from this year on. The strong roots and the modernization of our painting, our young creative's progress and their impact on today's aesthetic taste becomes manifest in the collection here at Berlin.
This unique exhibition of prize-winning acts from Salón de Otoño de Pintura de Plasencia is an inspiring informative way of getting to know contemporary Spanish art. In accordance with today's mission of art, these awarded artists exhibit by their acts plurality of styles and designs, miscellaneous vibrations in terms of colour and highly diversified harmonies in each painting's composition.
Sincere thanks to Instituto Cervantes and Extremaduran government, who made this exhibition possible by their generous co-operation.
