Christin Lutze - Painting
November 15th, 2012 - January 27th, 2013
"I'm looking in my painted image architectures and their constituent power is the space for the balance between rational, emotional and surreal elements. My goal is the combination of functional, structural and spiritual mo- ments of the painting.
Compared to the exciting reality of the real space occu- pied by people in my pictures I build their own infrastruc- ture, in which the human figure remains invisible: it is first and foremost, and almost always about space and space-defining use of color. My imaginary architectures and spaces have been abstracted from their inhabitants and emancipated - sign its own identity.
I open a link between reality and utopia, between real existence and intrinsic buoyancy, without cover in one direction or another. My painting is seen as one of avant- garde inspired imagination warm, light-filled architecture and landscape.
In the execution of my picture thoughts I'll stick with a respectful distance of observation, without redundant and attention to detail that the message of the painting would just talk.
The egg tempera and oil work is based on an immanent peace and collecting power. They feel when you travel, thoughts wander to find certainty or discover something new. Then you may come to a point that you get close to and decide whether you want to explore it further and hold, charge with its own importance." -

"The tangiblel seems to play no role in these color-spacial urban and landscape compositions. Christin Lutze lets her visual imagination run free: Beware longing weather! Only flying is better. She loves to use twisted experimental arrangements with urban references as if she wanted to summon the unpredictable twists of fiction that unite our lives with dreams.
Upstairs, downstairs, in snaky walk through fiction and self build, Christin Lutze curves in the role of a wave surfer through an aesthetic field, magical and created as an utopian attempt to control space by the use of color." -
Christoph Tannert (excerpts quoted)
